This is why we still need the Voting Rights Act in the South.

After all the water that has gone under the bridge dealing with interacial relationships, how can we still be fighting these battles?  It seems to me that with the GOParanoid utterly defeated in the last election there only hope is been to resurrect the crazy ass hat campaigns like the abortion issue, homosexual marriage issue, and the African Americans are taking over the country issue.

I know this plays well in the South.  Sitting at breakfast this morning, I heard the statement, “Bout time someone stood up to these n******, next thing you know they will be running the country.”  It was all I could do not to say, “Hey, Dumbass, we already are.”

By the way, this problem could have been fixed.  During the constitutional argument over homosexual marriage, some called for the State to stop issuing marriage certificates and make marriage simply a religious function.  Of course that would setup all kinds of issues with insurance, estates, and taxes.  All of which could be solved simply be allowing people the freedom to incoporate with whomever they wished.

By the way, my favorite part of the AJC article:

Bardwell, a Republican, has served as justice of peace for 34 years. He said he has run without opposition each time, but had decided earlier not to run again. His current term expires Dec. 31, 2014.
