UPDATED (8:07 a.m.):  Supposedly, Moby retracted his statement yesterday at 9:40.  Almost 2 hours after he spread such a vile rumor.  Don’t know if he apologized.  As of 8:05, there is a small disclaimer on his website claiming the story is false.  One commenter wanted to know if he was still an asshat.  The answer yes.  A little research could have debunk the story in about 3 secs.  Of course the GOParanoid do not want to be bothered by research.

This morning I happened to catch Moby in the Morning’s Small Town Soapbox.

Tend not to listen this asshat, but I got sucked in.

The problem was his whole point was based on a lie. Here is excerpt of his rant:

…we had scheduled Sgt. 1st Class Greg Stube, a highly decorated U.S. Army Green Beret and inspirational speaker who was severely injured while deployed overseas and didn’t have much of a chance for survival. Greg is stationed at Ft. Bragg and received permission from his commanding officer to come speak at our function. Everything was on go until Obama made a policy that NO U.S. SERVICEMAN CAN SPEAK AT ANY FAITH-BASED PUBLIC EVENTS ANYMORE.
Needless to say, Greg had to cancel his speaking event with us.

The lie is that this isn’t a new policy. It isn’t even a policy at all. Even the group that wanted the service member to speak has repudiated this charge.

By the way, it took me about 3 secs to debunk this shit.

Will Moby apologize? Will he take it off his website? Probably not and that is why he is an asshat.
