Highlights and lowlights of the GA Legislative Session:

  • Second straight year that transportation was left without a comprehensive funding increase. This is a serious problem that’s already caught up to us. Shameful.
  • No longer can one “donate” an embryo. The correct word is now “adoption”. Just another attempt to make cells =baby.
  • Pick-up truck owners? Better wear your seatbelt. Now the law applies to you, just like the rest of us.
  • The Georgia budget is cut to the bone, while the legislature uses $1.2 billion in stimulus funds to offset a $1 billion tax cut for corporations.
  • Teachers didn’t get any favors this year, although it could’ve been worse. Math & Science teachers get a pay raise, and a proposal to limit the pay increase for nationally certified teachers died on the floor.
